I am a libertarian-leaning liberal, a “Liberaltarian” if you will. I am pro-choice, voted Obama, supported Wendy Davis, and believe in social care for those who can’t take care of themselves.
Mostly, I try to live objectively and it’s taken its toll socially. I know there are things my own party and demographics get wrong and I don’t ignore them for convenience. I know there are things other parties and demographics get right and I don’t ignore them for convenience. Ultimately, living in a black and white “us vs. them” world subjective to personal feelings is just an endorsement of lying for benefit.
I am a gamer and a geek. I’ve been a gamer since 1988/89 and I’ve been a geek since I could remember. To me, there is no such thing as geek culture because I feel it popularizes the sum of many social deficiencies that actual geeks endure. Popular geek is an oxymoron and for good reason.
I believe in equality across the board. Why I don’t call myself a social justice warrior or a feminist is that the equality I believe in comes from real claims, unbiased facts, and doesn’t need to force guilt or legislation on any demographic to achieve.
I am a writer by necessity but my dream has always been to draw for a living. I’ve been drawing for decades and my attention to detail is keen, something I intend to present on this site.
Lastly, and most importantly, I am a responsible human being. This means I won’t blame others for my short comings. I expect to make mistakes but won’t blame my humanity on it. I may contradict myself or on occasion take sides when I shouldn’t and I expect this to be reasonably called out.
